Is Your Social Media Audience Fatigued? Here’s how to Fix Fatigue Quick

social media fatigued, how to create good social media content

There will come a time when your social media engagement and interaction will start to decline, as this happens with almost every business. Over time your social media audience will start to lose interest in what you are posting as things start to become stale. Don’t panic though, as there are some quick fixes for how to re-engage your target audience and continue to grow on social media!

Here are 5 quick fixes for social media fatigue within your audience:

1. Feature User Content

Ask your followers to share pictures and videos of their own to be promoted on your social media. They can tag your business, tag the location of your business or check-in, or even use a hashtag you come up with to be pulled from. This can be a great way to generate more likes, shares, comments and interaction with your business, as well as show real people who like your business and the products or services you offer.

2. Create Content that is Shareable

Ask yourself when you post something, “Is this something people would share with their friends and family?” and decide if there is a good reason someone would share it. Getting people to share your posts is important as that is the way to reach new audiences and people who may want to follow you. Also content that is shareable means more interaction for your page, which tells you your audience likes the content you are creating.

3. Don’t Reuse Content Too Much

While everyone reuses content and topics here and there, it is important to refresh often and create brand new content. People will quickly get bored of seeing the same reused content over time. In a study with 900 people, 21% of them said they would unfollow a brand if the content is boring or repetitive. Look over your last few months to see which topics and trends are starting to go stale for your audience.

4. Post Less

Worry more about quality over quantity when it comes to social media. Just because you can post 24/7 does not mean you need to. If peoples’ feeds are getting swamped with marketing posts, they will quickly unfollow or even block. Learn what your audience values seeing while scrolling so you don’t waste their time as well as yours.

5. Plan Ahead

Use a social media scheduling tool to plan ahead for all of your social media posts. We recommend scheduling no more than a month in advance, as things can change very quickly in the business world. Scheduling ahead of time will allow you to come up with fresh ideas, as well as make sure you are not posting too much or too little. Remember to leave gaps in your schedule for updates and trends that may pop up.
