The Do’s and Don’ts of Digital Marketing

digital marketing, how to use digital marketing

At a time where much of everyday communication takes place digitally, digital marketing has become the norm for getting product and service information out to consumers. Because digital marketing has become such an important aspect to the success of any business, doing it correctly is essential. Digital marketing done incorrectly may hurt your business just as badly as it benefits.

Top 3 Do’s of Digital Marketing:

1. Keep Your Audience Updated

It’s important for your audience to stay updated on what has been going on with your business. Consistency is very important to keep your audience engaged and interested. But this does not mean your audience needs to be bombarded with updates. Worse case scenario, it would push your audience away. No one likes to be spammed by emails and updates. Quality always comes before quantity.

Keep your audience updated so they won't forget about you, and keep them interested!

2. Know the Current Trends

Trends come and go so it’s important to keep your audience interested by following the current trends. Being old-fashioned doesn’t draw much attention. Instead, it’s the opposite of what digital marketing aims to achieve.

Many people follow Instagram influencers and TikTok stars for inspiration, so it’s naturally a good idea to market on Instagram and TikTok while they're hot.

3. Communication is Key

Questions mean that your audience is interested, which is a major benefit for the success of digital marketing. Questions may even lead your audience to become consumers. It’s important that questions are addressed and answered in order to maintain engagement with your audience.

When your audience reaches out, be sure to communicate with them as soon as possible. Don’t keep those emails and comments unanswered for days, or even weeks!

Top 3 Don’ts of Digital Marketing:

1. Don’t Bombard Your Audience with Information

Just like how no one likes to watch long ads, your audience won’t want to read pages and pages of information from your business.

Emails, newsletters, and website copy should be brief and straight to the point to maintain engagement. Images are a great way to limit words but tell a lot of information.

2. Don’t Ignore Concerns

Successful digital marketing means a happy audience. In order to keep them happy, you need to understand and handle their concerns.

For example, if products don’t match the advertisements, it would not make your customers happy. Ignoring those concerns would not only make those customers unhappy, but would also lead to a loss of audience. This would greatly decrease the success of your digital marketing.

3. Don’t Let Problems Stop You, Ask for Help

No one is perfect so it’s only natural to face problems. No one knows everything, so asking for help is never a bad thing.

Digital marketing can greatly benefit your business, so unaddressed problems would only weigh down the success rate of it. If you’re looking for help with digital marketing, feel free to reach out to us at Quantifi Media!
